He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with Minor in Chemistry in 2006.
After graduating Cum Laude from Texas A&M, Dr. Nassar attended the University of Texas at Houston Medical School. During his time there, he became the Vice President of the UT Houston Pediatric Society. He graduated with his Medical Doctorate in 2000.
After graduation, Dr. Nassar attended residency at the University of Texas at San Antonio from 2000-2003. In addition to his pediatric training during that time; he participated in the Neonatal Resuscitation program, completed Basic Life Support Training, and completed Pediatric Advanced Life Support training.
Dr. Nassar remained practicing Pediatrics in San Antonio, Texas between 2003 and 2006. During this time, he worked two years with San Antonio Pediatrics Association. This large group practice afforded him the experience to see large volumes of patients with multiple medical problems, a variety of cultures, and a large MCAID population. In 2005, he joined Priority Pediatrics in San Antonio, Texas. This group gave him experience with a very different patient population that was all private insurance. He received his board certification by The American Board of Pediatrics in 2005.
In the winter of 2006, he moved back to his hometown of El Paso, Texas, and began practice at Roberto Canales, M.D., P.A. In the 4 years he was part of that practice, he honed his skills as a practitioner while seeing an average of 70 patients a day in the clinic, 2 hospital patients a day, and 2 circumcisions per week. He developed clinic protocols for ADHD evaluations, circumcisions and follow-ups, and asthma care. He had the privilege to care for many children with special needs including Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and Pervasive Developmental Disorders.
With his background and experiences, Dr. Nassar has a vision for his practice to provide exceptional care first, and to deliver that care to the children of El Paso in a financially desirable manner.
